Williams Winter has been practising law in Melbourne for over 100 years. Currently we have four principals (whose profiles and practices are described in the profile section of our site). A committed team of solicitors and support professionals ably supports them.

For many years the firm practiced under the name Williams, Winter & Higgs. In April 2003 we changed our name to Williams Winter. Over the past 20 to 30 years the firm has had between four and seven principals.

The firm is now an incorporated legal practice under the name of Williams Winter Pty Ltd trading as Williams Winter. All principals are directors of Williams Winter Pty Ltd

Williams Winter maintains the highest standards of honesty and integrity in our dealings with clients and other professionals.

This is coupled with a modern and fresh approach achieved through recruitment and employment policies that seek out and develop the very best talent.

All current principals undertook their articles of clerkship at Williams Winter and have spent their entire professional careers at the firm. The principals are committed to the practice of law and do not engage in other business interests.

To broaden its client base, over the past 20 years the firm has acquired a number of smaller practices. These firms include:

• The litigation practice of Peters & Fitzgerald, formerly of Moonee Ponds.
• Michael Green, solicitor, formerly of Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne.

• The deeds register of Nicholas Calleja, solicitor, formerly of Queen Street, Melbourne

In addition to broadening its client base, the firm’s expansion has extended its extensive register of Wills and Deeds.
