Historically, Williams Winter's practice has been heavily involved in the area of Liquor Licensing and the Hotel industry. Over recent years this involvement has extended to providing a full range of legal services to commercial clients. These services include:

• Sales and purchase of commercial property and businesses, including those involving liquor and gaming licences.
• Commercial Leasing.
• Preparation of joint venture agreements and agreements involving sale of shares and units and companies and trusts.

The firm's commercial practice includes extensive work with Liquor Licensing Victoria (LLV) and the Victorian Commission for Gambling Regulation (VCGR). This work includes:

Applications under the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998, including:-

• New licence applications, transfers and/or variations of existing licences;
• Appearing on behalf of licensees in respect of Applications by the Police for the cancellation or suspension of an existing licence or Applications to suspend persons from being involving in a licensee company;
• Appearances before Panel Hearings of Liquor Licensing Victoria;
• Acting for objectors against the grant of a new licence or in respect of variations to existing licences.

Applications under the Gaming Regulation Act 2003 involving:-

• Grants of a new Venue Operator's Licence;
• Renewals of existing Venue Operator's Licences;
• Applications for Approval of Premises so as to be able to operate gaming machines;
• Disciplinary proceedings against licensees under the Act.
