Career summary

John graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from Melbourne University. He was admitted to practice in 1968.

Prior to joining Williams Winter in 2005, John was a partner at various firms from 1969. Since joining Williams Winter, John has primarily practiced in the area of estate planning including; Wills, Probate, trusts, and asset protection, including all litigation in these areas.

John also offers advice pertaining to defamation law, and practices in general litigation and administrative law.

John's extensive board representations include:

• Chairperson Victoria Legal Aid since 2001
• President of Film Victoria since 2003 (chairperson 1989 - 1992)
• Chairperson Sports Federation of Victoria (VicSports) 2002 - 2008
• Board member of Melbourne & Olympic Park Trust since 2001

• Member of Professional Advisory Board for La Trobe University Law School
• Honorary Solicitor of Victorian Water Polo Inc.

John is married with three adult children. For relaxation he swims in ocean races and plays water polo.
