Career summary
Lauren completed a Law/Arts degree majoring in Psychology at Monash University in 2008 and graduated with honours. Shortly afterwards, she spent a year travelling overseas prior to commencing her traineeship with Williams Winter in April 2010.
In December 2007, Lauren undertook a seasonal clerkship with the firm. Lauren thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Reflecting back on this time, she particularly remembers that she found the staff to be supportive and welcoming. Lauren recalls that the depth and knowledge of the lawyers of the firm was eye opening. She was also struck by the range of areas of law practiced by the firm. Lauren's seasonal clerkship with the firm was significant in her successful application for a traineeship position.
Reflecting on her traineeship experience with the firm, Lauren valued the close mentoring given to her by the principals and other senior legal staff. Under their guidance and supervision, she had the opportunity to manage a wide variety of files from start to finish. She found this to be particularly rewarding. Lauren feels that her traineeship year provided her with an excellent foundation on which to build her legal career.
Lauren was admitted to practice in May 2011 and is currently practising in the litigation department. She is working on Veterans' Affairs issues as well as general litigation and employment law matters. Lauren is also assisting practitioners with files relating to commercial transactions, probate, general property as well as criminal matters.
