MEDIATION, CORPORATE GOVERNANCE & ASSOCIATIONS
Corporate Governance
Corporate governance compliance can be vital to the success of any business or organization. In addition to providing leadership, company directors are responsible for devising and carrying out policies and decisions that determine company success for its shareholders and relevant stakeholders.
Trying to interpret and implement the myriad of corporate governance rules, regulations and best practice can be a challenge.
Williams Winter’s Corporate Governance group provides clear and practical strategic advice. Our multi-disciplinary team consists of lawyers from corporate, employment and litigation practice areas. They are able to advise boards, committees, executive and non-executive directors and senior HR professionals on a variety of day-to-day business issues. For example, this includes advice on:
- Directors duties and liabilities
- Remuneration
- Diversity, discrimination and recruitment
- Shareholder agreements
Our work with the Returned & Services League
We provide extensive legal services to the Returned & Services League of Australia (Victorian Branch) Inc. (the RSL), and to associated and related entities, including sub-branches and the RSL Licensed Sub-Branches Association. This area of practice developed from initially representing war veterans applying for Commonwealth disability pensions. Williams Winter subsequently developed a wider working relationship with the RSL’s Victorian Branch together with many of its Sub-branches and associated organisations. Our work with the RSL involves commercial and hospitality work, building contracts, governance issues and strategic advice.
